The core idea behind practicing No Negativity is that it is a lifelong endeavor. Since a life without any form of, or exposure to, negative energy or experiences is unattainable, you must be in a constant state of practice.
Practicing No Negativity means working at controlling your perspective, your energy and your reactions. You control your perspective by reminding yourself that happiness is a choice, not a condition. Conditions in this life are fleeting and temporary. Choosing how you experience and react to conditions, shapes your day-to-day reality. Intentional gratitude benefits your general perspective. Purposefully taking stock of what you DO have, rather than what you don’t and reminding yourself how much worse things can be is a necessary and calming habit.
Practicing No Negativity requires you to understand the fact that energy spreads. If you embody negative energy, (even in a minute capacity) then others around you will feel and demonstrate more negativity. Likewise, if you put out positive energy, then people around you will feel and show more positive energy. Practitioners of No Negativity often discuss the myriad of life struggles that people are facing. Knowing that others are already carrying so much, can be a helpful reminder for you not adding to their difficulties with your own (usually insignificant) negative energy. Demonstrating compassion for others actually makes YOU feel better! Additionally, practitioners have explained the feeling that regardless of what you’re going through, helping other people with their struggles will make your struggles seem less intense.
